No Designer!?

July 30, 2008

Atheism is extremely “in” right now.  For example, since 2006, Richard Dawkins’ (a popular atheist) “The God Delusion” has sold 1.5 million copies, been translated into 31 languages, and was ranked #2 on Amazon.com’s bestseller list… despite the fact that even other atheists didn’t think the book held water.

The Bible says to have mercy on those who doubt and God has had mercy on us by stuffing the universe with enough evidence in creation that displays his power and existence to help us when seasons of doubt come… and they will.  This story was on Foxnews.com yesterday.

Researchers have been studying this African fish because the design of its scaling forms a sophisticated type of armor that could be used to upgrade the armor of military soldiers, first-responders to a crime scene, and even military vehicle armor.  Let that sink in for a second.  The world’s finest engineers and most advanced technology coupled with an unlimited financial supply haven’t been able to outdo the armor of a fish.

As a Christian who doubts sometimes I undestand that I don’t have all the answers when hard questions come, but our Father in his great grace is still reminding the world that there is a Creator that is better than us at creation.

A great book to read on this subject is Case for Creation by Lee Strobel. I’ll admit I haven’t read all of it but the book contains info. from interviews with many SCIENTISTS who admit that a lot of the info. taught that seems to dispute a creator is false.
