Update on The Bridge NY Mission

August 1, 2008

For the whole scoop, you can check out a day-by-day summary of The Bridge mission trip to NY City at www.thebridgeinny.wordpress.com.  I read through today to see how the team was doing and I always come away amazed at just how much The Bridge students love Jesus with a mature love.  This is something Jordan Howerton posted about their week:

These kids, like everyone else in this world (especially this city), were looking for something. Whether it was acceptance, friendship, or just a snack these kids looked and even fought, at times, to obtain what they were looking for. This is where I get to brag on The Bridge :). These Bridgers not only provided snacks and friendship, but they went a step further and brought them the one thing that everyone is secretly looking for, whether they know it or not… JESUS! It was amazing to see how they told the kids about our JESUS with boldness and tenacity! It was beyond my comprehension, how a group of youth and adults could work for a solid 4 hours on construction and cleaning and then go and teach with patience and love, a group of difficult kids, who had apparently forgotten to take their medicine that morning. There is no reason other than JESUS that they should have been able to keep going. All I know is that this week i have see the Love that JESUS has for people poured out though the The Bridge and it has rocked my world.

Are you kidding me!?  I’m so proud to be a part of a church family that loves Jesus and is on His mission to the world.  If that wasn’t enough from the team, they posted these glamorous pictures on their blog also.

Now these guys love each other...maybe too much.
