Angels and Demons

May 21, 2009

Dan Brown’s second major bestseller and blockbuster, Angels and Demons, hit theaters last week to the tune of $46 million (if Dan Brown will throw some of that The Bridge’s way I will remove this post 😉 ).  This continued the storyline started in his mega-bestselling breakout book, The da Vinci Code.

Jana and I checked out the movie last week and after having either read or seen both, I know two things:

  1. They’re (terrible) theology wrapped in a good story to make it go down easier.
  2. They’re pure, sometimes hilariously-inaccurate fiction presented as fact… which is really confusing if you don’t have a strong handle on Scripture and church history.

So Westminster Theological Seminary launched this awesome website last week in response:

The truth about Angels & Demons

Ken and I read both of these books several years before they were movies…and they are easy to read and if you’re not careful or if you don’t know better the bad theology can sneak right by you…it’s kinda scary how he gift wraps his agenda…
