Top posts of 2009

January 4, 2010

Wow.  New year.  New decade.  In honor of the truly miraculous year that Jana and I saw personally and The Bridge saw corporately here’s my “Top 10 Posts of the year” to highlight some of the more special blog-days.  Some are a little less “spiritual” than others…

1.  Pics of our first Sunday in the building.  This is one of those days where we just looked around in awe and said, “Look at what God did”.

2. The “Religion is crap” posts.  Part 1, Part 2, and Part 3.  These stretched some people, but they really clarified what the gospel is and isn’t and showed the uniqueness of the Christian message.  God worked on me through this post series.  [And No, I didn’t forget the last post.  I’m still working on it… seriously]

3. All-time greatest viral videos.  Boom goes the dynamite, ladies and gentlemen.  Boom goes the dynamite.

4. Defend your position: Cats or Dogs? The best part about this post was how deeply passionate the 30+ responses to the question were.

5. “Enough is an enemy of the gospel“.  I didn’t even write this post but Jana still talk about it to this day.  It’s clear application of gospel implications really set us free.  This is a spiritual goldmine.

6. The “Pursuit” posts.  A five part blog series about how to pursue God personally and privately.  Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4, Part 5.  This is one of my favorites because of the ways God used it in some Bridgers’ lives who were really struggling to know God’s presence.

7. “The Bridge Has Talent“.  This should probably be number one as it includes some… well… cinematography of a few unwitting Bridgers dancing in their cars, at the dinner table, walking on stilts in their back yard, a FAILED jump serve, and one attempted Moonwalk.

8. Pet Peeves.  Again, a mindless but passionate debate with almost 40 responses about people’s pet peeves.  Probably shouldn’t have opened that can of worms… but, oh well 🙂

9. Wow, that was a rush.  Pics and thoughts from getting to be there as two of our best friends had their first child and let Jana be in the delivery room for the miracle.  Love you, Matt and Mere!!!

10. Top 10 posts of 2008.  How could this not be on the list?  Some of these are hilarious, looking back!

I love, love, love the community we get to share through something so simple as a free blog.  Crazy how much grace God has given us this year. Bring it, 2010!
